Sites and visits

Outline each field, yard or park you hunt. Finds inside belong to it automatically, and every trip is a visit with your time, your path and what you found.

Outlining a site

  1. On the Sites tab, tap + New site.
  2. The map opens. Tap each corner of the field or yard.
  3. Give it a name and choose the access: Permission, Public land, My property or Club hunt.
  4. Tap Save and explore. That only saves it: plan sites at home and visit them later. If you happen to be standing inside the outline, a Start visit button is offered.

Any find you log inside the outline belongs to that site, including finds logged before you drew it.

Visits

Start a visit from the site’s page (+ Start on its Visits card) or, when you’re inside one of your sites, with Start visit at the bottom of the map. While a visit is on, a clock runs there and on a bar above the tabs. Tap End (or End visit) when you leave.

Each day you hunt a site is a visit: the time you spent, the finds you logged and, if you have it switched on, the path you walked.

Tip For a site marked Permission, the site’s page has a Permission card: get the owner’s permission signed on your phone, keep their contact details and a log of your calls, and send them a report of everything you’ve found. See “Permissions”.

Your path and the coverage map

Each visit records the path you walk. The site’s page shows every visit’s path over the outline: the newest bright, older ones fading, so you can see which parts you’ve worked and which you haven’t. Tap a visit to pick out that day’s path and finds, and Open › for its own page.

Paths are approximate: a phone’s GPS is usually off by 10–25 ft, so treat them as “I worked around here,” not lane by lane. The app ignores the drift while you stand still or dig. It keeps recording with the screen off if you allow location Always (iPhone) or Allow all the time (Android). To stop recording paths, turn off Settings › Record my path on visits; visits still keep their time and finds.

A site’s page

Tap a site on the Sites tab to see its finds photo (take one picture of everything you’ve found there, laid out together), totals, the coverage map and every visit by day. A visit’s own page shows that day’s path and finds and lets you share it. Tap the coverage map to open the site on the main map. Edit renames it, changes access, redraws the outline or deletes it; deleting a site keeps its finds.
